Blog title

A while back my mom made the comment to me that for being a reluctant blogger, I sure am good at updating it, so I thought it was about time to change our title because we are no longer reluctant and haven't been for a while. Our blog, well I guess it's more my blog has become like a journal for me. It has helped me capture moments in our life that I probably wouldn't remember other wise. I wish we had one when Luke was born (they weren't around even just a couple of years ago or at least I didn't know about them) because it has given me a place to write down everything about Samantha so I can always remember.

The title actually comes from Alan and mine's song, Beautiful Mess by Diamond Rio. I put the words from the chorus on the sidebar. You can look up all the words to the song on http://lyrics.com/. I love my little family and life is so much better when Alan is home.

House hunting

House hunting went great on Saturday. We really like our realtor and we had a fun time. Thanks Rebecca for watching Luke for so many hours. We found some that we really like and some, that after seeing the inside of them made us really think about how we are going to let our kids treat our house. There was one house that I absolutely loved, but it was in a bad location and the inside was to small, but here is the biggest problem it had, the entire carpet in the whole house would have to be replaced, there were stains every where, it looked like these people gave their kids paint and markers and let them go to town all over the house we just couldn't believe it.
We do have a house that is on the top of our list, but we aren't ready to settle yet, so we hope to go out again this coming weekend.

Samantha

Samantha is 3 weeks and 4 days old now and getting so big. When I took her into the doctors last week she weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces. She has a spot on her head where her hair won't lay flat just like Alan and Luke. Her hair was a mix between dark brown and Blondie when she was born and now its all turning Blondie. She is nursing so well now and makes the cutest faces when she does, obviously no one else is going to see those. She has a icky eye like Luke did, hopefully hers will go away by it's self. She has an adorable smile and laugh and I am convinced that the smile is not always because of gas, the laugh, I'm not sure. She has thrown up and spit up in the tiny amount of time she has been here then Luke ever did. She is a very noisy sleeper, she makes little grunting noises through out the night.

I actually had a sleeping success with her today. She was awake for a while after her morning feeding because of tummy problems, I could tell she was tired and she would doze off for a minute and then would wake up, usually she would want to nurse which would cause more tummy problems, so I put her in the crib while her eyes were still wide open and she fell a sleep on her own, Yay! Luke never did that, Alan would always have to pat his back to get him to sleep or I would nurse him. Maybe I'll actually have a good sleeper.

Just living life

Luke's allergies are back and my sweet baby girl has a nasty cold. Her snot has been draining into her stomach which has been making her throw up, that's one of the worst things about being a parent having to deal with boogers and throw up. We think it has something to do with having that dehumidifier in our room over the weekend. I took her to the doctors and they said she looks great other then this cold. They can't really do anything for her because she is a new born, but we bought a humidifier and she has been sleeping in her car seat so every thing can drain good and she wont throw up, all this seems to be working. I was going to go back to church this Sunday, but if she is still sick I probably wont.
We start house hunting on Saturday. We are so excited. Wish us luck in our search.

I love these booties

Just one more reason

Yes you guessed it that is another leak in our ceiling. We have only lived in this apartment for a little over 9 months and this is the 3rd leak we have had. The first one was in our hallway, the second I don't think a blogged about, but it was a smaller one and in our guest bathroom and this one was in our bedroom closet.

I went in there Friday at about 2 to put some clothes away. I had a skirt sitting on top of our dresser that's in the closet that my arm brushed up against, it was soaking wet. I looked up at my dresses that were hanging in the back of the closet they were wet too and so I looked up and there was tons of water dripping from the ceiling. Who knows how long it had been leaking, I haven't been to church for a couple of weeks, so I haven't looked at my dresses for a while. The maintenance guys came, cleared out our closet and put a dehumidifier in our closet. This thing smelled and made our room burning hot. They said they would come by on Monday and get it, well its Wednesday and they just barely come and got it, but Alan actually unplugged it on Monday afternoon after they tolled us not too, but I was happy he did. This just gives us one more reason to buy a house sooner rather then later.

Our Cowboy

Last week Luke was watching a cartoon about horses and so he went and got his giraffe and was riding it around all morning like it was a horse.

Just the two of them

Finally a picture of Luke holding Samantha. Luke doesn't ask very often to hold Samantha and when he does its usually at a not so convenient time. He loves giving her hugs and kisses though.
