Blog title
The title actually comes from Alan and mine's song, Beautiful Mess by Diamond Rio. I put the words from the chorus on the sidebar. You can look up all the words to the song on http://lyrics.com/. I love my little family and life is so much better when Alan is home.
House hunting
We do have a house that is on the top of our list, but we aren't ready to settle yet, so we hope to go out again this coming weekend.

Samantha
Samantha is 3 weeks and 4 days old now and getting so big. When I took her into the doctors last week she weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces. She has a spot on her head where her hair won't lay flat just like Alan and Luke. Her hair was a mix between dark brown and Blondie when she was born and now its all turning Blondie. She is nursing so well now and makes the cutest faces when she does, obviously no one else is going to see those. She has a icky eye like Luke did, hopefully hers will go away by it's self. She has an adorable smile and laugh and I am convinced that the smile is not always because of gas, the laugh, I'm not sure. She has thrown up and spit up in the tiny amount of time she has been here then Luke ever did. She is a very noisy sleeper, she makes little grunting noises through out the night.
I actually had a sleeping success with her today. She was awake for a while after her morning feeding because of tummy problems, I could tell she was tired and she would doze off for a minute and then would wake up, usually she would want to nurse which would cause more tummy problems, so I put her in the crib while her eyes were still wide open and she fell a sleep on her own, Yay! Luke never did that, Alan would always have to pat his back to get him to sleep or I would nurse him. Maybe I'll actually have a good sleeper.

Just one more reason
Yes you guessed it that is another leak in our ceiling. We have only lived in this apartment for a little over 9 months and this is the 3rd leak we have had. The first one was in our hallway, the second I don't think a blogged about, but it was a smaller one and in our guest bathroom and this one was in our bedroom closet.
I went in there Friday at about 2 to put some clothes away. I had a skirt sitting on top of our dresser that's in the closet that my arm brushed up against, it was soaking wet. I looked up at my dresses that were hanging in the back of the closet they were wet too and so I looked up and there was tons of water dripping from the ceiling. Who knows how long it had been leaking, I haven't been to church for a couple of weeks, so I haven't looked at my dresses for a while. The maintenance guys came, cleared out our closet and put a dehumidifier in our closet. This thing smelled and made our room burning hot. They said they would come by on Monday and get it, well its Wednesday and they just barely come and got it, but Alan actually unplugged it on Monday afternoon after they tolled us not too, but I was happy he did. This just gives us one more reason to buy a house sooner rather then later.

I'm Back
Thanks to those 5 people who had faith that we would some day have a little girl and voted for a girl on our poll a while back. My heart just swelled in the delivery room when Alan told me that it was a girl, I love Luke very much and would have loved another baby boy, but now we have one of each and I feel very satisfied. I was upset about the tear, but recovery has been alot better this time around and I'm actually feeling pretty good now. I am very happy to be home. I've been a little weepy not because of depression, but because of worrying. I worry alot, is she okay, shes been sleeping to long or not enough, what was that noise she just made, etc.. We have a baby monitor, but even when its on I still have to go in some times and make sure she is okay. I wish I could just hold her all day. I worry about Luke too and about the house work.
Samantha is doing well. We had some problems last week with nursing, so I went to see a Lactation consultant I didn't really like her or the way she taught, she helped us in one really important way and now we are doing alot better. I've decided I'm not going to worry so much about when or how much or how often she eats. I figure she know when she is hungry and that's when I'll feed her. As long as she is pooping and peeing often, she is fine and she is doing great in both of those departments. She still is having trouble with her tummy because of poop, but I've read that, that is normal and I think Luke had some similar problems. She hasn't been sleeping very well the past couple of nights, but she is a baby.
Alan went back to work this week and I miss him alot, so does Luke. Alan has been so helpful around here, I couldn't ask for a better husband. On Monday Alan got his yearly review. The scale they use is BE below expectation, PM partially met, ME met expectations, EE exceeded, and FE far exceeded expectations. Alan got the Highest rating, can you believe that, he is so awesome and I'm so proud of him. This means that he got an awesome raise, which couldn't come at a better time. We have started the process of buying a house, YAY! We made a list of about 10 homes we would like to see and we just put in an application to get a realtor. Hopefully we will start looking soon.
We have gotten some bad news about some family and friends being sick this week and we want them to know how much we love and care about them. They are in our prayers.
Sorry for the long post.
