A Hubby missing in action

On Sunday Alan left for a week long business trip to Indiana for some training, sob, sob, sob. To make matters worst on last Thursday I was asked to give a talk in sacrament meeting this past Sunday, I told them Alan was going to be out of town, but they said they would just take me it went good though.
So far with some help from friends and family it hasn't been to bad. Alan is a great husband and dad and is always good about helping with Luke and the house, so to be with out him for a week is hard. Luke has been pretty good so far and its almost Wednesday so I think I can make it. Sunday night we went to the Wilson's for dinner, Monday was Aaron and Rebecca's and again tonight and I have plans for all the other nights too. I've been going to bed kind of late because I dread having to go to bed by my self, but I can't bring Luke in because he has been sleeping through the night in his own bed for almost a week, Yea. Oh, but Luke is sick, so I'm going to have to take him to see the doctor I think. I miss Alan.

USAA company picnic

On Saturday USAA had its annual company picnic for the IT department at a dude ranch. There was tones of food and lots of fun things to do and it was all free. I don't know how to spell the word, but you know those guys that draw the funny cartoon pictures of people well we got one of those done with all of us. Luke bounced around in one of those inflatable toys, at first he would only sit in front of the entrance, but after a few minutes he got up. We went on a hay ride, watched a rodeo with bull riding, Luke rode a pony and we stuffed our faces. We had a blast.

Another eventful week

No recovery of my Diamond. I was just at to many places that day too really have any clue of where or when I lost it, so if we don't get into a house next spring we might have to go get a new one. At least I will have the original band.

Wednesday night we went to a pre season Spurs game. Alan's neighbor at work has season tickets and couldn't go that night, so he offered them to Alan for about $35 dollars a ticket including free parking, which was an awesome price because these tickets, even though they were pre season, were worth $175 so we got a steel. We took Luke and had a great time, even though they lost. Has any buddy else notice a trend happening here any sports event we have been to lately the home team has lost the game, weird. Sorry no pics.

Late Friday night we went out to dinner with our friends the Wilson's to the Olive garden. It was good food and great company.

A no good, terrible, rotten, bad day

This is what yesterday was for me and its kind of cared over into day. I have been so frustrated with being a mom of a 2 year old boy. Please don't take this the wrong way because I love Luke and I'm excited I'm having another one, he just doesn't listen. It seems me and Alan have tried every form of discipline, but nothing works. Yesterday he was so bad I kind of can't blame because it was a long day.

I'm now at the point in my pregnancy where my appointments are every 2 weeks, I hate this. After my appointment I have come to realize I really don't like my doctor. He was really nice at first, but now it just seems like he doesn't care any more. I pay 2 dollars to park when I go to a doctors appointment just for him to just walk in say hi check the baby's heart beat, feel where the baby is positioned and tell me we'll see you in 2 weeks, that it he doesn't talk to me doesn't tell me how he thinks the pregnancy is going nothing. He has been doing this for ever so I'm probably like his 2000 patient or something, I still think he should take the time to talk to me, yesterday he told me it was time for my sugar test, handed me my folder and walked out, I was the one that had to inform the nurse so she could write up my lab request if I hadn't have said anything I don't think the test every would of been done. I'm going to say something next appointment. So after all this I had to go down to the lab where they inform me I would need to stay for an hour so they could do the test. I knew that it took an hour, but with Luke they gave me the nasty orange pop stuff to take home and then had me drink it an hour before my next appointment. This time I had to wait around the lab for a hour and this was when Luke went bonkers.

After the doctors I had to run to the Library and as I was driving I looked down at my hand and notice that the diamond on my wedding ring was missing but not only the diamond but the prongs that hold the diamond broke off. So I just started balling and still do whenever I look at my ring. I have no clue where it could be, but at least I still have the band and when we have more money we can get a new diamond put on the original band.

Brad Paisley concert

Saturday morning we were looking for something to do that day, when Alan finds out that Brad Paisley is doing a concert that night with Jewel opening for him. The concert was at an outdoor amphitheater where not only were there the regular seats, but also what they call lawn seating were you bring your own blankets and chairs and sit on this hill looking down on the stage. The ticket prices for the lawn seating were a really good deal. Alan asked if I wanted to go which I couldn't believe because Alan hates Country. Alan said that he likes Jewel and likes some of Brad's songs. I think Alan was just trying to be nice to me because I usually complain that we don't get out enough. So we went to the concert and had an awesome time! We brought our camping chairs and a blanket and even though we were at the very back of the theater the view wasn't that bad. A new country singer named Chuck Wicks played first for about a half hour and then Jewel and then Brad. It was the last night of Brad's tour so they were doing lots of pranks on each other. They all sounded great and Alan actually enjoyed him self. Luke was really good and he fell a sleep with in the first 15-20 min. of Brad coming on. We didn't get home till about a little after midnight, yes I know what bad parents we are and we had to get up early the next morning because we has stake conference at 9 A.M., but it was worth it. Unfortunately I don't have an pictures because Alan told me I couldn't bring the camera and when we got there everyone had theirs. We will double check on that next time.

An eventful morning

I have a poop story for Staci. These pictures aren't from that morning. Thursday or Friday morning I was sitting on my couch reading a book, it had been about 10 min. since I had actually seen Luke, but I could hear him playing in his room. I looked up from my book and here is Luke coming down the hallway butt naked and as he gets closer I notice brown stuff on his face and hands, yes you guessed it, it was poop, he was not poopy when I last saw him. I grab Luke took him into the bathroom and started running the bath water and went to go see what the damage was. There was poop smeared all over the floor and chunks of poop on the wheel of his bike, Oh Yuck! As Luke took a bath I cleaned his room, a quick tip I read hydrogen peroxide cleans poop off carpet, but of course I didn't have any.

On top of all this, when I went to go get Luke out of the bath he had pulled about half a roll of toilet paper into the bath tub, so there was wet TP floating around in the bath water, a lot of TP.

And on top of all that after everything was all cleaned I went in my room and saw that the screen had popped out of the window again and there was another lizard on our blinds. Thank goodness I had knocked it off when I moved the blinds and it found its way back out side.

Hockey

Saturday Oct. 11, so a little over a week ago Alan Luke and I were invited to go to a hockey game with one of Alan's co-workers, Kyle, who is LDS too, and his wife Rachel and their 4 Kids. The hockey team in town is a minor league hockey team named the Rampage. It was my first hockey game and Alan's second. They lost, but we had a good time any ways, Luke had an especially fun time. The teams mascot is this bull named T-Bone, Luke called him moo moo. Luke had a good time watching T-bone run around in the crowd, but any time he got near us Luke got scared. Luke can get pretty fixated on things and wont stop talking about them, so for the past week all we have heard from him is hockey, hockey, at least he finally stopped talking about the lizard in our room. Luke Stories

I Know this looks kind of long, but please take the time to read it all, they are such cute stories.

Here are a couple of cute stories about Luke. Mark Alan's brother came and visited us over Labor Day weekend, so about a month and a half ago. Luke loved having Mark here and he became Mark's little buddy. Mark left really early in the morning, so Luke didn't get to really say goodbye. Ever since then when ever we go any were Luke always asks, "Mark?" meaning is Mark coming with, is Mark going to be there and just this past Sunday when we were getting ready to go the church for General Conference Luke went through the whole list of Alan's brothers and even grandpa asking us if they were getting ready for church too. I feel really bad that he keeps asking about Mark. I don't know how to get him to understand that Mark doesn't live here. Maybe he does understand and he is just curious about what his Uncles are up to.

Just a few minutes ago I was looking at Joe and Kristi's blog when Luke came up and started pointing at the pictures of David that Joe and Kristi have on their blog. I told him that that's baby Davey. I said do you remember Uncle Joe and Aunt Kristi? That is their baby, Uncle Joe's baby. He said baby and I said yes and then he pointed at a picture of Joe and Said Daddy and I said yes Uncle Joe is a daddy now and he said Daddy Joe. Isn't that so cute. We love our Luke and are so blessed to have him in our lives. He does have his terrible two moments and some times they seem bigger then they really are to me just because I'm so tired now, but in general he is very good and he gives us lots of loves, so that helps us not get so mad about the bad things he sometimes does. We wouldn't give him up for the world.

An Awesome Date Night

Last week Alan won tickets from work to the WNBA finals second game for Friday night Oct. 3rd, we were thrilled! Our friends the smiths were nice enough to watch Luke for us, for probably one of the longest times we have ever left him. The San Antonio's team is named the Silver Stars and they played the Detroit shock. The game started at 6:30 and we arrived at about 6:10 at the AT&T center. We had free parking and they had a special section for those that had box seating, so we got to park basically right next to the building. We took a private stair way to our seats and USAA's suite. Alan's work owns a suite were they had food spread out for us. There isn't a view of the court from the suite, but they had a couch seating area with a big screen TV and then a table and chairs with an other big screen TV. Just out side the suite was a hall to our seats. Our seats were amazing, we sat on the same side as the teams seats, we were so close and our seats were leather with a nice back rest and a ledge in front of us so we could bring our food out. Alan and I aren't very familiar with WNBA teams or with the WNBA , but of course we got caught up in the game and started sheering for the Stars like we had been fans forever. The Silver Stars end up losing that night, they had lost the previous night, the Shock actual swept them and won the entire finals, but Alan and I still had great night. I have posted lots of pictures and some videos, so enjoy. Oh and in one of the videos you'll see fire shooting up we were close enough to the court that we could actually feel the heat from the fire.

Down Syndrome Awareness Month

I was informed today on my cousin Staci's blog that October is also Down Syndrome Awareness Month. In 2006 the year Luke was born I had 2 cousins who also had baby's that summer. One of my cousins had a beautiful baby boy named Tobin, who was very sick when he was born and past away. My cousin Staci had a baby girl named Katya who was born with 3 holes in her heart and Down Syndrome. I felt horrible for my cousins and at first didn't understand how they could be going through the things they were going through while I had a perfectly healthy baby born to me. Heavenly Father new that I was not as strong as these wonderful women are and I don't think I would be able to handle either of these situations. I love my cousins and are grateful for their strength and inspiration. Katya is now 2 years old and is doing wonderfully. I'm going to apologise now just in case. I hope this hasn't offended my cousins or anyone else, I'm sorry if it has, that was not my intentions.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

For those of you who didn't know October is national Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I didn't know this until I was watching Oprah yesterday which was about Breast Cancer. I have been lucky that no one in my family has had this terrible disease or has had any Cancer nor have I known any one that has had cancer, but this is not the case for many people and the # keeps going up of those who have had Breast Cancer and those that are effected by it. My heart goes out to those that this disease has affected and I beg the women in my family and my women friends who are of the age that you are suppose to be getting mammograms, to please keep getting them and for those that aren't at the age yet if there is ever a time when you get a feeling that there is something wrong please just go get it looked at don't second guess your self. I love you all.

Sleeping updates

Tuesday night and Wednesday night I put a Primary song CD on for Luke thinking that it might help him. Tuesday night from about 9:30 to 12:30 Luke woke up every hour and then after 12:30 he sleep the whole night, yea. Wednesday he slept the whole night with no problems. Thursday at about midnight Luke woke up just screaming his head off. I didn't want to get him, I wanted him to sleep in his own room. He cried for a hour, Alan got fed up and went and got him and he slept on our floor. Since then, I'm not really sure what nights, he did sleep in his bed for two more nights all the way through. He has had a cold so I've been giving him cold medicine so this might have been why, but I gave him cold medicine last night and he ended up in our room. I don't know whats going on, but I am not going to give up.
