We had a nice relaxing Memorial day, we hope you all did too. We played in our backyard with the sprinkler. We had a BBQ with our next door neighbors and played games.
Memorial day also marked the one year anniversary of Alan's first weight lost challenge at work and since then he has been in one other one. I love Alan no matter what, but I am very proud of the weight he has lost so far. The grand total 32.5 pounds in one year. Awesome job honey.

Talented Luke
Luke can do somersaults now, I'm not sure how or where he learned how to do it but I think its really neat. Luke has also learned how to make Samantha laugh. Luke is a really great big brother he can be too aggressive some times because he is a boy, but he loves Sammy and Samantha loves Luke. She is so enthralled by him and she gets so frustrated that she can get up and run around with him.

Painting
Last week we decided to start decorating our family room. We bought a new entertainment center and we bought paint. On Wednesday we painted one wall, it was alot of fun I really like painting and Luke even helped us too.
Unfortunately after looking at the paint for a day and a half we decided it wasn't the color we wanted to paint are entire family room, so we are going back to the paint store.

The amazing Samantha
Samantha has discovered many things in the past two weeks. Monday the 11th I left the room with Samantha laying on here back and when I came back in she had rolled onto her tummy. Yay my Sammy has become a roller. She has also discovered her thumb which I'm not so sure I'm happy about that and she has discovered her feet and loves pulling on them. The video is Sammy's fourth time rolling over.

No first 5?
Mom for now I'm just going to leave it open to those that have blogs, since it needs to be the first 5 that make a comment on the post. I'll leave it open till, lets say the end of next week, then if no one responds I wont do it.
But apparently no one wants to take the challenge on. If you are busy right now and don't have time to make something it does say just this year so that could mean now or 3 months from now or Christmas. If you are worried about money I don't think the the items need to be expense you could just make some cookies. Any way I hope that people will make a comment and take the challenge.

First 5...
I saw this on our friend Brandi's blog. At First I wasn't going to make a comment, but then I thought why not it sounds fun and I like getting and giving presents and it will be fun to have a projected to do and like it says I don't guarantee that you will like what I make for you.
The first five people to comment on this post will get something made by me.
My choice. For you.
Here's the deal: I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. What I make will be just for you. It'll be done this year. You have no clue what it's going to be.
It may be a story. I may sew, stitch, bake, or paint something. Who knows?
Anyone can comment (as long as I know you), it doesn't matter how far away you are. The catch?
Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your own blog and offer the same deal to 5 of your own lucky blog readers. So, the first 5 people to leave a comment telling me they are in, win a homemade gift by me!

Luke's Birthday
It was Luke's birthday on Saturday. I can't believe he is already 3, where has all the time gone? We had Aaron, Rebecca and their 3 kids over to celebrate with us. We got him a t-ball set for outside and Rebecca made him this really cute flying fish game. Thanks to every one for the cards and presents. I made him a homemade ice cream cake and it was delicious if I do say so my self. Luke had a great time.

I think she wants some cake

Mother's day
I had a wonderful mother's day I hope you did too. I am so blessed to have these wonderful children and I love being their mommy. Alan went above and beyond what I ever could of imaged. He made me breakfest and dinner which both were great and did more and did much more.
This year for mother's day was great because Luke is now at an age that he can actualey make me some thing and made this beautiful necklace, pictured below, in nursery.

Laugh out Loud
Samantha has the most adorable laugh and noises, I've been trying to get them on film and I finally was able too. Unlike her brother Sammy doesn't really like the camera, all the pictures you see of her smiling are usually after like the 4th try.

Enjoying our backyard
New Pics
The kids are doing great. Luke turns 3 on Saturday. Samantha is on the verge of rolling over and I think she is teething, Which makes me sad because Luke didn't get his first tooth till he was about 10 months.

A million excuses = an expired license
This is a really long post, so if you don't want to read the whole thing you do need to read the end of it.
When we moved here a year ago Alan went out right away and got the car registered, got new license plates and got a new drivers license. He told me I should get a Texas license right away too, but I told him I needed to get my eyes checked first because I didn't think I would pass the eye exam excuse #1, so I didn't get a new license. I couple of weeks later we found out I was pregnant and I become really sick and was not going any where excuse #2, plus it was really hot which made me even sicker excuse #3. After a while I totally forgot about my license excuse #4. I don't drive that often excuse #5 because we only have one car and we live about 25 min from Alan's work and even when I had the car and Alan was walking I still didn't drive that often. So time went on and I still had my Idaho License, I didn't ever think about and I seriously thought I had one more year to get a new one excuse #6. Well holidays came and went, then I had Samantha, so I wasn't in any condition to go any where excuses #7. It took me a while to get use to being a mom of 2 and I still am getting use to it excuse #8.
I don't remember how but the subject of my licenses came up during the week of Sammy's blessing and when I took a look at my licenses I saw that it has expired! You would think with how often I have to take my license out to go to Alan's work that I would of notice that it was going to expire soon, but I didn't. I have been driving with an out of state license for about 9 months which is bad enough because I could of gotten a ticket if I got pulled over, but I have been driving with an out of state and an expired license since February. So I finally got that eye exam I needed and got contacts and went to the DMV, but the computers were down for the entire state, they said come back another day before I left I asked them what I would need to do to get a new license since it was an out of state license and it had expired, they said all you will need to do is the eye exam and pay the money great, that's exactly what I wanted to hear, but the next time I came they told me I would need to do all three exams I was so upset that I almost cried, it was scary enough taking the driving exam the first time around, but now after driving for almost 10 years I was going to have to do it again no way.
The lady asked me if I wanted to take care of that today, I had to came to the DMV by my self this time and so I had both kids with me, I looked at the line I would have to wait in, the place was so full there wasn't any more places to sit, I looked at my kids and then at the lady and thought to my self what do they of daycare in the back are you going to watch my kids for me while I do all of that, I told her politely that no I could not do that today.
There is so much more to this store, but I'll fast forward to the end. After going back to the DMV 2 more times I decided to just bite the bullet and take the tests. I passed the eye exam with out my contacts that I thought I so badly needed and that's why I didn't get a Texas license in the first place, I took the written while Luke sat on my lap and Samantha sat in her car seat next to me and passed. I haven't taken the drivers test yet so this story will have

Things are looking up
When we first moved into our house and were getting familiar with the stores around us the only grocery store that we knew of was less then desirable to go to. It was an HEB which are really the only grocery stores here in San Antonio, but it was really old and rundown, it was kind of dirty, the ails were tight, it was always crowded and I didn't really feel safe going to it. Alan would some times buy groceries after work at our old grocery store just so we wouldn't have to go to the one down here. Well one night as I was driving to girls night out I found another store that wasn't to far away. We went there this weekend to do our shopping and we are never going back to the other one ever again. It's an HEB plus so it is bigger, the store is a new store, it was clean, it was kind of busy but because it was so much bigger it didn't feel crowded. You might be thinking to yourself come on its just a grocery store why does it matter, but to me it does I don't know I guess I just think this is where I buy the food we eat I want the place to be clean, to feel nice and this new store does that for me yay. This has made me feel a little more comfortable about where we live.

Sammy
The doctor was going to put Samantha on some medicine for her Reflux, but we didn't end up picking up, but its okay because its been over 2 weeks and she has only thrown up twice, yay! I think she is growing out of the Reflux. She is such a sweet baby. She is now making the cutest little noises, I'll have to try to get it on film.
