Cape Cod #3

On Friday we went to Cuffy's where we buy our Cape Cad t-shirts and sweatshirts. There was this big bear that sang and dance there and Sammy loved it. We also went to the Christmas tree store. We went to the fish pier to watch Rocky and Mark come in from Lobstering and then went to A&W for lunch.

Cape Cod #2

On Thursday we went to Nuasit beach and played in the ocean. Samantha wasn't too fond of the water, but she would get close enough to get a pail of water to play in the sand with. Luke wouldn't get in, but Alan did dip him in ones. Luke's big thing this year was getting people to build sand castles for him.
After some down time at Sue's we went to Grandma's for a ham dinner. We went back to Sue's "to play some games," this was the story I guess Grandma was told after we all left her house early that night. She wasn't even suppose to know that we were at Sue's, but I think some one slipped up. What we were really doing was working on a scrapbook for her 80th birthday.

Cape Cod #1

We spent a week in Cape Cod over the 4th of July weekend. We always enjoy our trips to Cape Cod, except for the long travel days. Alan, I and the kids stayed at Aunt Sue and Uncle John's house, thanks guys for letting us crash at your place. We were a little worried about this arrangement only because Sue has a dog and Luke is terrified of them. It went okay though, Sue was nice enough to keep Layla out side or in her kennel when ever we were there.

We left early Tuesday morning to catch our flight to Dallas where we would then catch our flight to Boston. We landed in Boston at about 6:30 pm and then drove straight to Sue's house on The Cape and got there about 10 pm. On Wednesday we saw Alan's grandparent's for the first time and followed by a swim at Long Pond, George's pizza for dinner and games at Grandma Chase's house. This year we mostly just swam at our beloved Long pond. I did get some shopping done at Cuffy's and the Christmas tree store and then in Chatam on our girls day out. The following are pictures taken at Long pond. More to come from Cape Cod later this week.

A great weekend

On Friday we had a sleep over for all the YW and leaders at our house. It was alot of fun. We went swimming, played games, ate alot of junk food and I stayed up to 3 in the morning. That's the latest I've stayed up since I was married.

On Saturday we went to this awesome restaurant called BJ's. They had a great selection of food, the service was good, Alan got a very nice drinking glass for fathers day and one of the managers brought the kids ice cream for free. Oh, and they make their own pop. I had black cherry and Alan had Root beer. We will for sure be going back there.

Saturday night we watched Avatar. At first I didn't think I was going to like it because of the story line, but it turned at to be a great movie, happy ending and all.

On Sunday the YW organization handed out the yummy cookies we made Friday night in church for Father's day.

The great outdoors

Samantha has become quit the nature lover. She asks to go outside everyday. She will even go outside by herself. She usually comes inside with dirty hands and feet, but it doesn't seem to bother her.
She has discovered bugs and has no fear of them. The other day Luke came running in from outside yelling that Sammy was picking up bugs and sure enough she had some kind of beetle crawling on her hand. I am not a big fan of bugs, but I tried not to over react. On Tuesday Sammy was sitting in our family room looking at a children's friend when I heard her laughing her head off. I looked up to see what was going on and it looked like she was just playing with a black piece of paper. When I looked a little closer I saw that it was moving on her hand. It was an ear wig, gross!! I quickly got her to drop it and then I killed it. I don't know if earwigs are dangerous I just think they're really creepy. I don't think I squashed her curiosity with them from that one incident and I don't want to either. As long as their not dangerous I guess I shouldn't over react.
