Christmas Vacation

We arrived in Colorado Springs last Thursday night and have so far enjoyed our visit. It started to snow tonight, which makes me very excited. I got one Christmas wish granted. The only bad thing is we still are waiting for Mark to arrive. He arrives tomorrow and we are worried about him flying in and drive to the airport and back. Here are some pictures of Luke and Samantha in their Christmas outfits. Hope you all have a great Christmas.

Missing the Fam

It's been really hard writing Christmas cards this past week. It's been a really long time since I've seen some of you and I miss all of you so so much. It's exciting when the family grows and we all grow up and have families of our own, but it also makes visiting each other not so easy. I never imagined I would live this far away family but I also know that we are suppose to be here in Texas at this time. Love you guys and girls.

Thankful

This is a little late, I meant to post this last week, but I was super busy making rolls all last week that my Young woman were selling along with the strawberry jam they made for thanksgiving. I guess it isn't really to late to be thankful. I got this poem from an e-mail, not all of it applies to me, but what doesn't apply to me may apply to you.
FOR THE HUSBAND WHO IS ON THE SOFA BEING A COUCH POTATO, BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
FOR THE TEENAGER WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.
FOR THE TAXES I PAY BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM EMPLOYED .
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING, WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION .
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.
FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES AT THE END OF THE DAY BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.
Live well, Laugh often, & Love with all of your heart!

You never know who you're going to see or meet

Think twice about wearing that old t-shirt with snot stains and paint on it to just run to the store or to get the mail. Change the shirt, throw on some lip gloss before heading to that door because you never know who will be out there.
Three times last week I answered the door it some not so pretty outfits, to say the least. Two times I was actually in my PJs, I hadn't even taken a shower and the other time I had taken a shower, but then worked out, so I was not only in sweats and a yucky t-shirt I was also sweaty. You all know how it is, so don't laugh, okay you can laugh if you need one for the day.

I have two things to say for my self, #1 the two times I was in my PJs these people showed up at my house before it was even 9 o'clock, now come on people how rude is that. If I want a shower before 2 when they nap at the same time, I have to get up at like 6:30 before Alan goes to work, yeah right or I have to wait till Samantha takes her first nap in the morning and just pray that Luke doesn't destroy the house while I take a 1 min. shower. #2 I was in the comfort of my own home with no plans of going any were that day, but I guess I should be prepared for anything like when the missionaries show up at your house after you've worked out and there is laundry all over the couch, that's right you just go on laughing.

This was the 3rd time. It was like 4:15 in the afternoon I had just started feeding Samantha so she could take a nap and I heard knocking on the door, I decided not to get it. They knocked again, I still didn't get it. I really needed Samantha to take I nap, so there was no way I was going to pull her off, please tell me you know how this feels. There is silence for a few seconds, so I think they have gone, but Luke decides to go look out the window and apparently they saw Luke as they we're leaving. They come back and knock again. I run up stairs try to put Samantha down, do you think she went down? No. As I am coming down the stairs they knock for the fourth time. By then I had to answer it and invite the missionaries into my home. At least the cloths on the couch were clean.

Halloween

Luke really enjoyed Halloween this year and he Looked so good in his cowboy costume. I had a costumes for Samantha, but it was from when we lived in Rexburg, Idaho and was a little to warm to ware here in Texas, so I just dressed her up in Halloween colors We went to our wards Trunk-or-treating on Thursday and then Alan took Luke trick-or-treating on Halloween. He got through our whole street and then said he was done and wanted to help pass out candy with me. We got alot of trick-or-treatiers this year it was fun seeing all the different costumes. Halloween was kind of a bust for me because since we don't have cable I didn't get to watch any scary movies and I had forgotten to rent some from netflix oh well Alan was pretty happy about it he isn't a big fan of scary movies.
