Crazy hair and cool kids

Not sure what Luke is doing with his hands. Maybe he joined a gang behind my back.

4 years old

Luke turned 4 on Sunday. Only one year left till school, yes! I'm just joking. Luke can be very trying sometimes, but he has many good qualities that out way the bad ones. It was a 2 day event. Since his birthday was on Sunday we took him out to Red Robin for lunch on Saturday. We asked him where he wanted to go and that's what he chose. We had the workers sing to him and he got a free sundae. We also let him open his birthday presents that night and had him call every one to thank them for the presents. On Sunday after church we had his birthday cake chocolate with orange frosting. I feel bad about the cake because I still wasn't feeling good and instead of some special cake it was just a sheet cake with a very poor frosting job I think the cookies and cream ice cream that I served with it was the saving grace, but Luke ate it any ways. Happy Birthday big guy. We love you.

Facebook friends

2 reasons why I didn't join facebook a long time ago were, I didn't want to let my blog slip and there were certain people I lost contact with that I didn't want to be found by. Both came true when I joined facebook. I'm doing better on the blog, but I currently have 12 friend requests on facebook that I'm not so sure what to do about. I know I can just hit ignore and I've done that for a couple of them, but them came back. You would think they would get the picture after I've ignored them twice. I really don't want to have to write a message explaining to them why I don't want to be friends with them on facebook or any where else.

Sea World

We bought season passes to Sea World this year. It's only about 10 min. from our house, so I can take the kids during the day when Alan is at work for a couple of hours or we can go on the weekend and not worry that we didn't spend very much time there. Here are some pics of the first time we went as a family. Luke and I went last new years eve with Rebecca and her kids.

Family in town

A couple of weeks ago Joe, Kristi, Davey and Mark came into town. We had a great time visiting with them. We played games and went to the Zoo. The guys went to a Spurs game. I wasn't very good at taking pictures and the ones I do have are courtesy of the camera on my phone. Sorry they're not great quality.

Update

Yes, its been a very long time. I've been stuck in a blogging rut and haven't felt like posting much. I don't make any promises about posting more, but I will try. Here is a kiddo update.

Luke will be 4 in a couple of weeks. He is finally potty trained and has been for a couple of months, Wohoo! After trying a few times and giving up he woke up one morning and did it by him self. I make a reminder in the morning and that's it even when we go out and about he will tell us he needs to go . He still wears a diaper at night, but there has been a couple of nights when he fell asleep before I put one on him and he stayed dry through the whole night I think he just wanted to do it on his own terms.

I started a small preschool with a few women in our ward. We have it once a week on Thursdays. We go over a letter, a number and a color each week. Luke has been having a great time with the other kids. He has been learning so much and I am very proud of him.

Samantha is now 15 months. She is running every where and can go down the stairs all by herself facing forward. She enjoys being outside and will now walk on the grass even in bare feet. She doesn't say to many words but she understands everything we say to her. She will answer us with a yes nod of her head when we ask her a question and stares at us when the answer is no. She just adores Luke. I'm amazed that the motherly instinct has kicked in so soon with her. when Luke cries she is right there patting his back giving him hugs. She loves babies and even tries to pick them up. She loves coloring and will sit right next to Luke and color with him. In general Luke and Sammy get a long pretty well. If Luke is being mean to Sammy she will get frustrated and hit him and all I need to do is reminder only huggies and kiss and she'll stop and give him a big hug.
