Yes you are looking at what you think you are looking at, that is our ceiling. A week ago on Friday afternoon I sat down to watch a movie and heard this plunk, plunk noise. I got up to find where the noise was coming from. I went into the hall way and looked up and this is what I saw, Well it wasn't this bad. There was only about an inch crack in the ceiling and it was dripping water from three different spots. I thought to my self, oh man the maintenance man just left, he was here to fix another problem. I called the management office at about one, I explained to them the problem and they said they would put in a work order and someone would came look at it. When Alan got home at about 4:30 or 5 no one had come yet, so he called. No one came that day or Saturday and they have Sundays off. The pictures are what we saw on Monday, the crack had grown to a foot long, the water was now dripping from different places and the ceiling was now bowing from obvious water damage. I called again and tried to explain that this wasn't a simple work order that some one needed to come today, she said she would see what she could do. No one came that day or on Tuesday. So on Wednesday I decided to address them in person I walked up to the office at about 10:00. I told one of the Ladies the problem, she said really, I am so sorry about that, the maintenance men have been behind on work and their first priorities have been to fix the Ac's, but she will differently have some one come look at our problem that day. About 5 minutes after I got back some one did come by. He checked the ceiling, said it was coming from the apartment above us and he went up to go see what the problem was. The people above us had moved out about 2 weeks ago and apparently the water hook ups for the washer had been left on. The floor in that apartment had soaked up as much water as it could and then our ceiling started taking the damage. He turned the water off and said he would send some one out fix the ceiling. no one has been out yet, but at least there is no more water dripping.

Oh man, that stinks! I am so sorry. Don't you just love renting - I never have been able to get a maintance man to come by quick enough. Once our dishwasher completely soaked the entire kitchen floor and so we couldn't use our dishwasher or kitchen sink for three days. Three days! They love to come by quick :)
