We're finally back from our two week long vacation, well I shouldn't say finally because we did have a good time, but 2 weeks would probably be an okay amount of time if we had stayed in one place for the whole time or maybe 2 places, but do to certain situations we moved around quiet a bit this trip and traveling with kids isn't the easiest thing to do and Sunday was a long traveling day filled with some interesting experiences.
We left my moms house in Rigby, ID Sunday at 10 a.m. and drove to Salt lake city airport, thanks again mom, to catch our flight back home that didn't leave till 4:36 p.m. We flew out of salt lake to save some money, but unless we are just going to visit my sister in Wyoming, staying in Utah or we get a rental car, this is the last time I will ever do this, sorry Alan. Luke was a brat the entire time we drove to the airport, yes I just called my child a brat, which made me very nervous because a bratty kid, yes I just did it again, in a small confined space that we can't leave for a very long time, aka a plane just doesn't go so well. Thank goodness we had some time before we had to board the plane and Luke was able to run around for a while.
I was so happy to fined out that both planes we flew on were three seats on each side, so we could all sit together, which made nursing alot easier. The kids did great for the first flight except that it got a little too bumpy for Sammy at the end and she threw up a little bit. Our second flight was more eventful.
To start off the plane was a little late getting in, so we were late boarding. As we were boarding the plane I noticed a man in hand cuffs boarding our plane and a US marshal or boarder patrol or who ever has the right to bring prisoners over state lines I don't know, that's right we had a criminal on the plane, Alan then pointed out to me well at least we have some members of the armed forces on board, so if things get out of line we'll be okay. Just as we were leaving the gate the flight attendance notice a panel in the ceiling was missing, so they had to call some one to come fix it and we had to wait for that to get fixed. As we were taking off I heard a very strange noise and Alan informed me it was just the landing gear folding back up, I asked him are you sure he said yes. Sammy fell a sleep right away and Luke followed soon after but half way through the flight we got our drinks and needed to put a tray down I couldn't use mine because Sammy was in the way, Alan couldn't use his so we were going to use Luke's, big mistake, we had to move him slightly to get it down which woke him up and he began to scream for about 20 min we were now the parents with the scream kid that we all know and hate when we fly. He finally fell back asleep and all was well for the rest of the flight. Every one was really nice and told us it was no problem and that are kids did actually pretty good compared to what it could of been. We got in late and then our luggage took for ever to be unloaded. We finally got home at midnight and went to bed.
Since this was a long trip I will be blogging about it for a while and maybe some updates on the kids and present life mixed in. Pictures and more stories coming up in the next few days.

Update on Samantha's life
Samantha finally got her shots last Friday :(. That was the hardest thing I have ever had to do for her since she has been born :(. When Luke got his shots I had Alan come with us, his schedule was alot more flexible when he was in school, and he was the one that helped hold Luke down. This time I had to do it and she just kept crying and looking into my eyes like why are you letting them do this to me. I felt so bad :(. I don't know if I can do that again.
Samantha doesn't really like to be left alone for too long, even if I just go into the kitchen real quick she gets kind of sad, but now that she can kind of crawl she will just wander around till she finds us except if we all go up stairs then she can't quit make it to us. She will sit at the bottom of the stairs and watch Luke go up and down longing to be able to go with him.

We are almost done decorating Sammy's room, I just have to hang some pictures and some shelves! Alan painted and I put up the flowers and butterflies. Its so fun to decorate a nursery. Her bed isn't done yet because I still need to get the bumper to go around the edge of the crib. We think we will move her in after we get back from our trip.

Update on the kids
I took the kids to the doctor's yesterday. Luke has some funky rash thing on his head and do you know what the doctor said it was? Cradle cap can you believe it, at his age? Sammy still has some left on her head. I think cradle cap is just a general term used for a build up of dry skin cells, but he is doing great just being a trying 3 year old.
Samantha is now 17 pounds and 27 inches long, she is in the 75th% for her height. No shots yet, but after a long conversation with our doctor, who surprisingly wasn't pushing us into get them and with Alan I will take her in tomorrow and get the first set. She is super fast at crawling now, well it's not really full crawling yet and it's not army crawling. She is such a sweet baby. She loves laughing and when she is tired or just excited she will Barry her head into a blanket.

The Rants of an over worked and tired mom
My family and I are generally healthy people. We have the occasional cold or flu but nothing to big that we can't handle with out going to the doctors, but I know something could come up and so I did the responsible thing when we first moved to Texas and found a doctor. I hate choosing a doctor there is no simple way of doing it, but just by trial and error. I wish I could just gather up all the doctors in my area in one place and do an interview with each one till I find the one I feel comfortable with.
I had this great idea to have our family go to a family practitioner, that's who we saw in Rexburg, it was great. I found him when I was pregnant with Luke, he was my OBGYN, then Luke's doctor and if needed he could also see Alan and I when we were sick, a one stop doctor. I like having a doctor that knows my entire family, that knows all of our medical history, so I began my search.
I used Luke as my guinea pig. He still needed wellness check ups, so I thought what better way to find a doctor. I found one and took Luke in. It took a hour in the waiting room to see him, 45 minutes in the actual room, for just a 15 min appointment, he was a nice enough guy, but I didn't feel comfortable. We went a couple more times and then that was it. I didn't worry about it again till Luke got sick and that time I just took him to an urgent care. At this point I was pregnant and having a hard time finding a doctor for me, I couldn't find I family practitioner here in Texas that did pregnancies. I was informed that the hospital would want a doctor on record for our baby before we could take her home, so the search began again.
I called a list of 10 FPs and the last one I called said yes they see newborns on up and would be happy to see our family, yay finally, but there was a catch though, they didn't do immunizations I would have to go some where else to get Samantha's shots done. I told them that was fine I did that in rexburg with Luke because Luke was on medicaid and it was easier for the doctor to send us to the local free clinic, that by the way also took regular private insurance so any one could go, its not so simple here in San Antonio.
I had to call around to a whole bunch of clinics because they all told me that they only served low income families and couldn't take my insurance go figure. I finally found one that wasn't to far from us. The first time I went their computers were down and the second time they were closed. Life got crazy and I didn't really think about Samantha shots. She has been seeing the doctor, but not for regular wellness check ups.
Samantha is seven months old and hasn't had any shots except for the one at the hospital. I have become one of those crazy moms, yes crazy who don't get their kids vaccinated, not really on purpose and now I'm not real sure what I'm suppose to do.

Don't worry, I think we are safe.
When I came home from grocery shopping today there was graffiti all over the walls at the entrance to our community. This was not the first time this has happened and probably wont be the last. All I could think was who are these hooligans and where are their parents and if these guys are to old to be disciplined by their parents, then boy do they need to get a life. Parents really need to step up to the plate and take charge of what their kids are doing late at night or just take charge of their kids in general, jeez. We live just outside of the bad part of town and live just within the bounds of the good school district and when you drive around here you can really tell the difference in the areas.

The Last of Cape Cod
This is my last post about Cape Cod I'm sorry to say. The trip went by way to fast and the time till the next visit will go by way to slow. Thanks to all that went with us and made the trip so enjoyable. I know we all wish we could go more often, but I am grateful for the time that we do get to go and all the pictures that we took, they will help us remember.
Great grandpa chase with Samantha
Grandpa Chase served in the US Army during world war 2 and earned the purple heart and the bronze star. I think you can just tell by looking at grandpa that he was a tough guy at some point in his life, but now he such a sweet old man that loves his family. Its nice to sit and talk with him or just listen to his classic country with him.
There was this big stuffed bear in the house we rented and at first Luke was terrified by it, but I think the guys finally got him to play with it. This is Dan sporting his new fur coat.

Joe demonstrating what it looks like to get attacked by a bear.

All three kids in the back of one of the rentals, taking them to the potato chip factory.
Some pretty pictures Alan took of the scenery around the Harbor that Rocky brings his lobster boat into.
