Remembering 9/11

I am writing this post at the exact time the first airplane hit the first tower. In my life 9/11 has been the biggest national tragedy that I have been through and I am sure that it will not be the last. I will never be able to forget how it felt to see those towers going down. Where were you when 9/11 happened? I was in seminary when the planes first hit. When I got to my first class that day the news was on, I saw the towers go down. The world stop that day. It had only been a little over a year since my dad had past away and the first thing that I thought of was all those children that had lost a parent or that had even lost both. My heart goes out to all those that lost a love one that day. Our lives as a nation changed that day. I don't write this to bring up bad memories, and I'm sorry if it does. I just want to take this time to thank all the men and women who risk their lives on a daily bases to protect our lives and freedom, not just those that are serving in the military, but also the firefighters, police men and women and Paramedics. Many will say, but they choose to do that and that is my point they choose to do what they do every day. Despite how you feel about the war, it is important for us to support those soldiers that are not only fighting for our freedom, but so many others freedom. I am grateful to those in my own family and Alan's who have served in the military. I am blessed to live in the USA. I love all of you and I am blessed to have all of you in my life.
